CNC Lathe Operator – HUBER Technology US

Base Pay Range$30.00/hr - $36.00/hr
The CNC Geminis Lathe Operator performs machining operations and is responsible for meeting daily production requirements. This role focuses on getting the job done right the first time while promoting a safe work environment and world-class manufacturing.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities- Operate machines safely and efficiently.
- Use collision avoidance features on capable machines whenever possible before executing programs.
- Check tooling, setups, program coordinates, and all other information to ensure a quality part.
- Edit programs to make necessary corrections and document changes or corrections in the control.
- Provide timely information regarding problems that may affect quality, delivery, or customer requirements.
- Suggest improvements in programs to shorten run times.
- Analyze tooling, setups, and procedures and recommend improvements.
- Read and understand manufacturing drawings; classify them by part type and thickness.
- Load and unload heavy weldments using overhead cranes and best rigging practices.
- Load, unload, and pre‑position work in fixtures; check parts for conformity with dimensional specifications using fixed gauges and calipers.
- Remain alert to detect improper machining and troubleshoot material issues as they arise.
- Collaborate with the team to share ideas, recommend, support, and implement continuous improvement activities and process improvements.
- Engage in continuous training and development.
- Excellent machine shop math skills.
- Two‑year machining technology degree preferred.
- Experience with CNC part and fixture setup.
- Responsible for operation of multiple pieces and types of equipment (Geminis Lathe 3‑axis CNC lathe & Geminis CNC O.D. Grinder).
- Proficient reading and understanding of blueprints.
- Clear understanding of CNC G & M codes.
- Follow directions step‑by‑step; knowledge of speeds, feeds, and tooling.
- Inspect parts visually and mechanically for conformance to print and process dimensions.
- Operate overhead cranes and other lifting devices.
- Maintain clean, orderly, and safe work area and equipment.
- Strong communication skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent verbal and written communication.

Consistent attendance is expected. The position is predominantly shop floor based; exposure to noise, dust, fumes, and odors may be present.
Physical DemandsRequires standing for 8+ hours per day, performing machining functions for extended periods. Vision and hand dexterity are needed for computer activities.
Position Type / Expected Hours of WorkRegular full‑time, benefit eligible. Standard days and hours are Monday‑Friday, 6:00am – 2:30pm, or an approved schedule based on role needs.
Required Education, Experience, and Skills- High school diploma or GED, or equivalent years of experience.
- Minimum 5 years’ experience operating CNC lathe with Fanuc 31i B control.
- Experience programming with FANUC Manual Guide Eye is a plus.
- Must successfully create programs/toolpaths with Fanuc 31i
B. - Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
Education and Experience
- Degree or certificate from an accredited university or technical institution.
- Equipment manufacturing background.
- Proficiency in ERP systems.
- Mechanical aptitude and knowledge of mechanical equipment.
- Experience leading teams of operators.
