Salary Range: $16.00/hr - $18.00/hr

Responsibilities Customer Experience
  • Models and delivers a distinctive and delightful customer experience.
  • Registers sales on assigned cash register and provides customers with courteous, fair, friendly, and efficient checkout service.
  • Engages customers and patients by greeting them, offering assistance with products and services, resolving issues, and answering questions to ensure a positive experience.
  • Models and shares customer service best practices with all team members by practicing interpersonal habits such as greeting, eye contact, courtesy, and proactively offering help.
Operations
  • Provides customers with courteous, friendly, fast, and efficient service.
  • Recommends items for sale and recommends trade‑up and/or companion items.
  • Registers customer purchases, processes voids, returns, rain checks, refunds, and exchanges as needed; covers cash handling and change distribution.
  • Takes customers to the OTC aisle when possible and assists in locating products.
  • Maintains clean counters and shelves, performs inventory, records pricing, and follows store manager or shift leader instructions.
  • Performs duties assigned by Pharmacy Manager, Staff Pharmacist, or Store Manager, including using pharmacy systems to enter patient and drug information, filling prescriptions, verifying medicines, checking for interactions, and assisting pharmacists with workflow.
  • Reports prescription errors promptly to the pharmacist on duty and adheres to company policies including the Walgreen Co. Pharmacy Code of Conduct and Good Faith Dispensing policy.
  • Handles phone calls that do not require personal attention of the pharmacist, including those to physicians.
  • Processes manual claims for third‑party prescription services in a timely manner and performs other clerical duties as assigned.
  • Supports Pharmacy Department inventory management—ordering, unpacking, checking, storing, and filing claims for overages or shortages.
  • Ensures compliance with state and local laws regarding regulated products such as alcohol and tobacco.
  • Constructs and maintains displays, including promotional, seasonal, and sale merchandise; completes resets and revisions as directed.
  • Separates food items (raw from pre‑cooked), manages product placement, rotates stock using first‑in, first‑out methods, and makes restocks.
  • Provides customer service in the photo area—digital passport photo services, poster printing, and creative machine sales.
  • Performs web pick‑up responsibilities, monitoring orders, picking items, and delivering to customers upon arrival.
  • Assists with exterior and interior maintenance to keep the store clean, neat, and orderly.
  • Maintains respectful relationships with coworkers and complies with all company policies and procedures.
  • Completes special assignments and other tasks as assigned.
Training & Personal Development
  • Earns and maintains PTCB certification through the designated training program and/or required state certification/registration.
  • Attends training sessions, completes PPLs requested by the manager or corporate, and acquires continuing education credits to maintain knowledge in healthcare and pharmacy.
Qualifications Basic Qualifications
  • Fluent in reading, writing, and speaking English (except in Puerto Rico).
  • Willing to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekend hours.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Six months of experience in a retail environment.
  • Prior work experience with Walgreens.
  • Strong math skills for accurate prescription filling (counting, measuring, and weighing).
  • Good computer skills.
  • Knowledge of store inventory control.
  • PTCB certification.
