Job Description & How to Apply Below

Arkad is a growing alternative hydrocarbon feed stocks and circular materials company. We produce Tire Pyrolysis Oil (TPO) and Recovered Carbon Black (rCB) from end‑of‑life tires (ELT) thru a thermochemical recycling process, supplying global energy and industrial customers.

As Arkad scales its operations and develops new production and processing facilities, we are looking for a Project Engineer to drive the delivery of our capital projects.

Our Culture

We believe in ownership, accountability, and drive in getting things done. At Arkad, people are trusted to run their areas, make decisions, and be responsible for outcomes—not just processes. We operate in industrial markets, supplying products to global energy and chemical customers. Our feed stocks happen to be waste, which makes the business inherently more sustainable—but we compete on quality, reliability, and execution.

As Arkad scales, we expect our people to scale with it.

Role Summary

The Project Engineer is responsible for the end‑to‑end delivery of Arkad's capital projects — owning schedule, budget, contractor management, and stage‑gate discipline from design freeze through performance acceptance.

This is a project management role with engineering depth. You will not be the senior technical authority on the plant, but you must read PFDs and P&IDs critically, understand process equipment, and challenge consultants and contractors with credibility. The role bridges design intent and operational reality — ensuring that what gets designed gets built correctly, and what gets built performs at specification.

The first 12 months are oriented around delivering Project 1 (commissioning targeted no later than March 2027). Beyond Project 1, the Project Engineer will contribute to Project 2 — currently in feasibility development.

Main Responsibilities Project Planning & Control
  • Own the master project schedule and budget for assigned capital projects
  • Develop rolling 90‑day execution plans and weekly progress reports
  • Maintain stage‑gate discipline through design, procurement, construction, FAT, and commissioning phases
  • Identify schedule and budget risks early; develop and execute mitigation plans
  • Report status to the Project Director on a structured weekly cadence
Design Review & Technical Validation
  • Critically review the consultant's Detailed Engineering Design (DED) — PFDs, P&IDs, equipment specifications, instrumentation lists, control philosophy
  • Identify operability and constructability issues before they reach the site
  • Coordinate technical clarifications with consultants, vendors, and technology licensors
  • Contribute to HAZOP, risk assessments, and process safety reviews
  • Maintain project documentation standards
Procurement Support
  • Support specification of long‑lead items
  • Review vendor proposals for technical adequacy and compliance with project requirements
  • Manage technical clarifications during procurement
  • Coordinate with international equipment suppliers
Construction & Installation Oversight
  • Coordinate with the land preparation contractor and Manajemen Konstruksi consultant during civil works
  • Supervise EPC installer once mobilised, ensuring construction matches design intent and quality standards
  • Manage interfaces between civil, mechanical, electrical, and instrumentation work packages
  • Drive issue resolution and change management during construction
Factory Acceptance & Shipment
  • Lead the FAT process at the manufacturer's facility overseas
  • Work alongside third‑party inspectors (TÜV Rheinland or equivalent) as witness
  • Sign off on equipment readiness before shipment
  • Coordinate delivery logistics
Commissioning & Start‑Up
  • Lead loop checks, leak tests, and pre‑commissioning protocols
  • Coordinate the full commissioning sequence — cold‑run, hot‑run, performance testing
  • Develop and ensure execution of start‑up and shutdown procedures
  • Drive issue resolution during start‑up; coordinate with vendors and operations
  • Demonstrate plant performance against design intent
Handover & Operations Transition
  • Hand over the plant to operations with complete documentation
  • Support operator training and knowledge transfer
  • Contribute to Management of Change (MOC) processes
  • Track plant performance through the…
