Purpose of the role
- QC Inspector implements random inspection for various categories as per business needs for premium (merchandise), print and packaging, displays and signage of marketing, promotional, and activation.
- QC inspector implements random inspection from incoming material, in-process production, packing, delivery, and installation process.
- Ensure end-to-end suppliers’ QAQC process, follow the company workflow (QC Guideline and QC Check sheet) by supporting the QAQC Manager in conducting supplier audits regularly to validate their QAQC process for every stage of design- production, dispatch, and installations.
Skills, Knowledge, Experience, and Exposure
- Minimum 3-5 years as a Merchandise QC Inspector from promotional/activation agency, testing laboratory, retail, or general manufacturing industries with basic education from Industrial, Textile, Mechanical, Graphic/Creative Design, Operational, or Quality Management.
- Understanding of Acceptable Quality Limit (AQL) Standards for determining the number of samples to be inspected in a production batch and the permissible tolerance limits for defects.
- Ability to Read Specifications & Technical Sheets to understand technical drawings, artwork, and material specification documents, and ensure that mass production results exactly match the Golden Sample (approved reference sample).
- Defect Classification ability to identify and categorize product defects into three categories:
Critical (endangering/impairing function), Major (reducing resale value/function), and Minor (minor aesthetic or physical defects). - Understanding of the basics of Quality Management Systems (such as ISO 9001)
Mindset and Temperament to Navigate the Role
- Detail-Oriented with ability to spot small defects that are often overlooked by the layperson (such as differences in colour/ pantone brightness, logo distortion, or skipped stitches)
- Highlight the mindset needed to be effective in this role, e.g., a proactive and positive, solution-oriented mindset, a drive to achieve customer service excellence.
- Possessing a strong eye for detail and not colour blind, assertive in standardization decision-making, and able to work under the pressure of tight deadlines.
