Para educator for RISE Learning Center at Derby Middle School
Assists and participates in teaching, protecting, and providing care for middle school-aged students; carries out lesson plans and other curriculum provided by the classroom Teacher; participates in planning lessons, staff meetings, professional development, etc.
Qualifications- Para Pro Certificate or Associate's Degree required.
- Prompt, reliable, dependable candidate with good oral and written communication skills.
- Assist the classroom teacher in the implementation of age/developmentally appropriate lesson plans.
- Assist the classroom teacher in maintaining an orderly, clean, welcoming classroom for students and parents.
- Interact positively with students at all times. Maintain visual supervision of children at all times.
- Maintain appropriate documentation for each student, as directed by the classroom teacher.
- Participate in DCF Mandated Reporter, First Aid, and PMT if required.
- Working cooperatively with the teacher and providing a role model for students.
Position is eligible for an extra $3 per hour stipend for the Learning Center Position.
