- Promptly and professionally answers telephone calls.
- Greets patients and other visitors to the office.
- Collaborates with multi-disciplinary departments throughout Griffin Faculty Physicians and Griffin Hospital.
- Coordinates surgical appointment with patient and Griffin Hospital’s operating room and/or GI suite or Childbirth Center. Completes OR booking forms at the direction of the Surgeon.
- Provides Griffin Hospital Pre-admission testing with medical clearance and informed consent.
- Organizes surgical assists within Specialty and/or coordinates cross-Specialty Physician surgical collaborations.
- Coordinates surgical patient medical clearance appointments with PCP as required at the Physicians’ discretion.
- Schedules pre-operative and post-operative patient appointments as needed.
- Contacts insurance carriers to obtain prior authorizations as needed.
- Manages provider’s office schedule to reflect time out of office for surgical procedures.
- Provides general clerical support for the office and assists the practice manager as needed.
- Additional responsibilities as assigned.
- High school diploma or GED.
- Minimum of three years administrative experience in a medical office.
- Experience with surgical booking and medical billing required.
- Working knowledge of medical terminology.
- Experience working with electronic health records required.
- Must possess strong customer service skills and must be able to multi-task.
