Pride Health is hiring a Float phlebotomist to support our client’s medical facility in Derby, CT. This is a 3+ month contract with the possibility of a contract-to-hire opportunity and a great way to start working with a top-tier healthcare organization!

Pay Rate: $20- $22/hr. on W2.

Shift: Monday – Friday: 8am-5pm, Alt Saturday 8am-12pm

Duration: 3+ Months

* Pay Rate is based on experience and educational qualifications.

Job Responsibilities:

• Perform venipuncture and capillary puncture to collect blood specimens from patients of all ages.
• Ensure patient comfort and safety during the collection process.
• Accurately label specimens and complete requisition forms.
• Adhere to standardized procedures for waived testing, ensuring the accuracy and reliability of results
• Properly handle and store specimens to maintain sample integrity.
• Follow protocols for specimen transport and disposal
• Perform electrocardiograms (EKGs) as directed by healthcare providers.
• Apply electrodes and monitor patients during the procedure to ensure quality tracings.
• Prepare and verify manifests for specimens being sent to external laboratories or for transportation purposes.

Job Requirements:

• 5 years phlebotomy experience required, inclusive of pediatric, geriatric and capillary collections.
• Float to different work location.
• Minimum 3 years in a PSC/IOP environment preferred.
• Customer service in a retail or service environment preferred.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Medical training: medical assistant or paramedic training preferred.
