Patient Safety & Regulatory Care Manager (RN preferred)
MAIN FUNCTION:
To support all functions of the Patient Safety & Care Improvement Department, including:
Acting as a resource to the Hospital for current local, state, federal and accreditation organizational regulations, Support Hospital Patient Safety and Quality Improvement projects, Data collection, management, and reporting;
Meeting preparation and follow-up; and clerical/administrative functions.
- Acts as liaison to multiple clinical and non-clinical department/services to educate, guide and, as indicated, co-ordinates in the development, implementation and analysis of patient safety improvement activities.
- Provides consultative services to departments and services of the organization in achieving overall compliance for organizational patient safety, quality improvement, regulatory and accreditation activities.
- Conducts evaluation activities involving patient care, clinical safety and services provided, utilizing experts for consultation as warranted.
- Leads or facilitates teams as requested (i.e., Patient Safety or Quality Review, Sentinel Events, Peer Review, State Reportable, Root Cause Analysis, TJC, and other accreditation, PRO Quality Projects and issues) to evaluate errors and current systems and processes, identify areas for improvement, and development recommendations for improvement and re-design.
- Functions as the Patient Safety & Care Improvement Department Member on Teams, Committees or Task Forces related to the Liaison Assignment and as designated.
- Contributes to the mission of the organization by supporting the Employee Philosophy, Planetree Model of Care, and Organizational Goals.
- Manages information confidentially, professionally and effectively.
- Maintains responsibility for attendance / reliability to ensure that the Hospital is operated in an efficient and cost effective manner.
- Maintains an active Professional Development Program.
Bachelor’s degree preferred. RN preferred. Clinical background and medical terminology essential. Certificated Professional in Healthcare Quality (CPHQ) desired.
ExperienceMinimum six months in same or similar position preferred. Computer literacy and the ability to type is required.
