Full-Time Medical Assistant – Infusion CenterThe Medical Assistant provides both clinical and administrative support to ensure safe, timely, and efficient patient care within the Infusion Center. This full-time MA role includes responsibilities in phlebotomy, patient care assistance, scheduling, insurance coordination, and daily operational workflow.
Responsibilities Clinical Duties- Perform and assist with routine and STAT blood draws
- Obtain vital signs, patient weights, and medication reconciliation
- Prepare infusion areas and assist patients as directed
- Support RN staff with delegated tasks within MA scope of practice
- Maintain clean and safe patient care areas
- Help facilitate patient flow and room turnover
- Assist with scheduling appointments and managing patient inquiries
- Verify insurance benefits for infusion services as needed
- Assist in obtaining prior authorizations and gathering necessary documentation as needed
- Communicate with provider offices regarding orders, clinical information, and clarifications
- Scan, upload, and manage patient documentation within the EMR
- Support front-desk functions as needed
- Maintain supplies and restock infusion rooms
- Respond to phone calls, faxes, and messages in a timely manner as needed/directed
- Collaborate closely with nursing, pharmacy, and administrative teams to support daily operations
- Other duties as assigned
- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- Graduate of a Medical Assistant or Medical Office Assistant program required.
- Current BLS required.
- Experience in patient care, phlebotomy, and EKG required.
- Previous outpatient office, specialty clinic, or hospital experience required.
- Experience with insurance processes, scheduling, or medical office workflow strongly preferred.
- Experience with electronic medical records required;
Meditech experience a plus.
- Current BLS required.
