Qualifications
- State of Connecticut certification as a teacher/coach.
- Knowledge of technical and competing skills
- Demonstrated practical experience as a competitor, player or coach
- Skills and talent in coaching
- Experience coaching at the high school level preferred
- Valid CPR and First Aid Certifications
- Valid CIAC Coaching Permit
- All that is required to coach a high school soccer team
- Assist in coordination and supervision of the program.
- Help students achieve gains in athletic skill, team performance, and citizenship.
- Assist in designing of training and game programs
- Assist in organizing and supervising staff to assure that practice and game plans are properly implemented.
- Assume duties of Head Coach if required
- Adhere to all national, state, and local rules and policies
- Assist in development of team rules, communicating rules, and implementing rules
- Maintain positive public relations
- Ensure that athletes meet eligibility rules
- Ensure that athletes adhere to school and team rules
- Ensure the supervision of athletes
- Ensure that health and safety practices are followed during practice
- Immediately report serious injuries to trainer, head coach, AD, and principal
- Assist with care of equipment
- Observe district policies during all activities
- Work to further your education as a coach
- Be available to scout opponents
- Other duties assigned by Head Coach, AD, Principal, or other Administrative Staff
