Next Care Urgent Care is seeking a part-time Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner to support our Wichita, Kansas market in a designated float role.
This is an excellent opportunity for a provider seeking schedule flexibility, a variety of clinical environments, and the ability to practice independently while collaborating with a supportive regional medical team.
Position OverviewPart-time float urgent care role
Care for patients of all ages
Broad scope including acute illness and injury, pediatrics, occupational medicine, X-rays, and lab services
Providers practice independently with access to regional clinical support
Part-time position
Minimum of 4 shifts per month
Shifts are typically 12 hours
Schedules coordinated in advance
Additional shifts may be available based on clinic needs
Weekend and holiday availability preferred
Designated float role supporting three Next Care clinics in the Wichita, KS area
Floating limited to nearby clinics within a short driving distance
Evaluate and treat patients following clinical best practices
Deliver compassionate, patient-centered care aligned with Next Care values
Manage patient care from intake through discharge
Diagnose conditions and develop treatment plans
Clearly communicate care plans and follow-up instructions
Accurately document encounters in the EHR
Ensure appropriate coding and billing
Maintain productivity and professionalism in a fast-paced setting
Active, unrestricted Kansas medical license
Active DEA registration
NCCPA certification (PA) or ANCC/AANP certification (NP)
Nurse Practitioners must be Family-certified (able to treat all ages)
Bachelor s degree (PA) or Master s degree (NP)
Active BLS certification
Strong EHR proficiency
Comfort treating pediatric through geriatric patients
DOT certification may be required (training provided at no cost if needed)
1+ year of urgent care, ER fast-track, or walk-in clinic experience
Comfort with initial X-ray interpretation
Strong procedural skills (suturing, minor procedures)
Ability to practice independently in a fast-paced environment
