An exciting opportunity has arisen for a flexible and motivated individual to join our Paediatric Outpatient team at Burton Hospital as a Clinic Receptionist. This is a job share role, working Thursdays and Fridays, with an expectation to provide cover for colleagues’ absence on Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays when required.

As a key member of a small and dynamic team, you will be the first point of contact for our patients and families, providing a welcoming and professional reception service. You will support the outpatient nursing and medical teams to ensure the smooth running of the children’s clinic and an excellent patient experience.

Managing the reception area independently

Booking in patients using Meditech V6 (experience desirable but training provided)

Liaising with patients, families, and staff in person and by telephone

Providing a high standard of administrative support to the Paediatric Outpatients department

Managing enquiries effectively, escalating where necessary, and keeping accurate records

Prioritising your own workload to meet departmental standards and deadlines

Assisting with data entry, reporting, and information requests from the management team

Maintaining confidentiality and handling sensitive information appropriately

Ensuring a clear and accurate handover each week for your jib share colleague

Supporting general administrative tasks, including stationery and supplies

We are looking for someone who is friendly, approachable, and patient-focused

Flexible in their working approach and able to adapt to the needs of the service

Organised with strong attention to detail

Confident using IT systems and able to learn new applications quickly

A team player with excellent interpersonal and communication skills
