Our client, a thriving consultancy based in Derby are looking for a Health and Safety Consultant to join our team, supporting SME clients, predominantly within the construction industry.

Construction and CDM knowledge/experience highly desirable.

Starting salary £45,000 - £50,000 depending on experience.

Key responsibilities of Health & Safety Consultant to include:
  • Complete construction site inspections and audits
  • Ensure practical compliance with CDM 2015
  • Review H&S documentation, including Construction Phase Plans (CPPs) and RAMS
  • Help clients understand and meet their duties as Client / Principal Contractor / Contractor
  • Provide practical advice on controlling common construction risks to include working at height, lifting, excavations/temporary works, plant/traffic management, COSHH, electrical safety and public interface
  • Conduct incident/near-miss investigations, corrective actions, learning, and RIDDOR guidance
  • Produce concise, high-quality H&S documentation
The ideal candidate will have:
  • Full UK driving licence
  • Experience in construcion encironment with knowledge of CDM regulations (desirable)
  • Strong IT skills
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Good problem solver
  • Ability to manage own diary and work using own initiative
  • Good attention to detail
  • NEBOSH General Certificate (or quivelant) is essential
  • NEBOSH Diploma (or equivelant) desirable
  • NEBOSH Construction (desirable)
  • CSCS card (desirable)
