Overview

An established and highly successful privately owned construction contractor is seeking an experienced Senior Planner to support continued growth across the North Midlands and Yorkshire region.

The role will involve producing and managing programmes across multiple projects covering design, procurement, construction, installation, and commissioning activities from tender through to completion. You will also be responsible for reviewing programme progress on a regular cycle and providing management reporting as required.

This is an excellent opportunity to take ownership of the full planning lifecycle while working collaboratively with project, design, commercial, and preconstruction teams. Knowledge of 4D planning software is advantageous but not essential.

Requirements

* Strong experience in a Senior Planner role within a main contracting environment

* Deep understanding of construction processes and project lifecycle

* Excellent working knowledge of Asta Power project (Primavera P6 knowledge advantageous)

* Experience tracking progress using straight line and jagged line methods

* Comprehensive understanding of procurement routes and construction contracts

* Ability to interrogate tender documentation and develop complex programmes

* Experience producing dashboards, progress reports, and programme updates

* Strong stakeholder management and communication skills

* Ability to read and interpret drawings and specifications

* Strong commercial awareness with experience assessing programme impacts

* Ability to multitask and work under pressure across multiple projects

* Proactive and self-motivated with strong attention to detail

* Experience mentoring or supporting junior team members

Qualifications

* Degree or equivalent in Construction, Engineering, or related discipline preferred

* Relevant professional memberships desirable
