Education Personnel are working with a large, well-established Catholic secondary school located in the heart of Derby City Centre. We are seeking an enthusiastic and committed Science Teacher to join the school from January, delivering engaging and high-quality Science lessons across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4.

This is a long-term maternity cover position running until the end of the academic year. You will be joining a supportive Science department known for strong collaboration, excellent resources, and a commitment to high standards.

About the Role

* Teaching Science across KS3 & KS4 (specialism in Biology, Chemistry, or Physics welcomed)

* Full-time timetable, Monday–Friday

* Creating engaging, practical and inclusive lessons that inspire curiosity and scientific enquiry

* Contributing to the wider department and ensuring consistency throughout the maternity cover period

Requirements

* Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) – essential

* Strong subject knowledge in Science

* A DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one through Education Personnel as part of registration)

* Commitment to supporting the school’s ethos and values
