Teacher Active is proud to be working with a number of welcoming and supportive schools across Derby, who are seeking enthusiastic and reliable Teaching Assistants (TAs) to join their teams.

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with a Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification who is passionate about supporting children’s learning and development. Whether you’re experienced in the classroom or looking to build on existing skills, we’d love to hear from you.

As a Teaching Assistant, you’ll play a key role in helping pupils reach their full potential—academically, socially, and emotionally—while supporting the class teacher to deliver engaging and inclusive lessons.

The Role Will Involve:

• Providing support to pupils on a 1:1 basis or in small groups

• Assisting teachers with classroom preparation and learning activities

• Promoting positive behaviour and encouraging pupil engagement

• Helping to create a safe, supportive and inclusive learning environment

• Adapting activities and resources to suit individual learning needs

What We’re Looking For:

• A Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification (or equivalent experience)

• At least 6 months of experience supporting children or young people in an educational setting

• A caring, patient and proactive attitude with a genuine passion for education

• Good communication skills and the ability to work well as part of a team

• A sound understanding of safeguarding and child protection procedures

• Experience supporting pupils with SEN/SEND needs is highly desirable

• A full UK driving licence is helpful but not essential
