Education Personnel are working with a large, well-established Catholic secondary school in the heart of Derby City Centre. We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Humanities Teacher to join the school from January, delivering high-quality teaching across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4.

This is a long-term maternity cover position running until the end of the academic year, offering consistency, supportive leadership, and the opportunity to make a real impact within a thriving humanities department.

About the Role

* Teaching Humanities (History, Geography or RE specialism welcomed) across KS3 & KS4

* Full-time timetable, Monday–Friday

* Delivering engaging and inclusive lessons that meet the needs of all learners

* Contributing to the wider life of the department, ensuring continuity throughout the maternity cover period

Requirements

* Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) – essential

* Strong subject knowledge across Humanities

* A valid DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to undergo one through Education Personnel as part of our registration)

* Commitment to supporting the school’s ethos and values
