Overview
Education Personnel are recruiting a Nursery Teacher for a nursery setting based within a primary school site in the DE21 area. The nursery operates from a purpose-built unit with its own secure entrance, free-flow access to a fenced outdoor play area, and dedicated spaces for role play, creative activities, and quiet learning. Children move between indoor and outdoor areas throughout the session, with learning set up to support play, exploration, and early independence.
The nursery works with smaller class numbers and a consistent staff team, allowing teachers to focus on early communication, personal development, and readiness for Reception. This Nursery Teacher role involves planning and leading early years provision, working closely with teaching assistants, and maintaining clear routines across the day. This Nursery Teacher position is part-time and dependant on needs and availability.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver early years learning in line with the EYFS framework

• Lead daily nursery sessions and manage classroom routines

• Support children’s early communication, social development, and independence

• Use observation and assessment to track progress and inform next steps

• Work closely with nursery staff and support staff to deliver provision

• Maintain a safe, well-organised learning environment

• Communicate effectively with parents and carers regarding progress and routines

The Ideal Candidate

• Holds QTS with experience in Early Years or Nursery settings

• Has recent experience teaching in a UK nursery or EYFS classroom

• Confident planning and leading learning for children aged 3–4

• Strong understanding of EYFS assessment and observation

• Calm and organised approach to classroom management

• Communicates clearly with children, staff, and families

• Flexible and reliable, with a professional approach to the role
