Are you passionate about supporting young people with additional needs? Long Term Futures are currently recruiting for a SEND Teaching Assistant to join a specialist secondary provision in Derby (DE3). This is a full-time opportunity for someone who is committed to making a positive impact and supporting students both academically and emotionally.

The school provides a structured and nurturing environment for pupils aged 11-16 with a range of needs including autism, SEMH, communication difficulties, and complex learning needs. All students have an EHCP, and the school places a strong emphasis on personalised support, helping each pupil to build confidence, independence, and achieve their full potential.

Key Responsibilities:

Provide 1:1 and small group support to pupils with SEND
Support lesson delivery and classroom activities
Manage behaviour and promote a positive learning environment
Adapt support to meet individual needs (EHCPs)
Encourage engagement, confidence, and independence
Follow safeguarding procedures at all times

Experience supporting children with SEND (school or care setting)
Strong behaviour management and communication skills
A patient, calm and proactive approach
Ability to build positive relationships with pupils and staff
A genuine passion for supporting young people
