Are you a passionate SEN Tutor in Derby looking to make a genuine impact?
An innovative and supportive specialist education provider is seeking a dedicated SEN Tutor Derby to deliver personalised learning to children and young people with Autism (ASD), SEMH, ADHD, dyslexia, trauma-related needs, and other additional learning needs.
As a SEN Tutor in Derby, you'll provide engaging 1:1 and small-group tuition, typically supporting just 1-6 learners at a time. This allows you to tailor every lesson to individual learning styles, build meaningful relationships, and help students develop both academically and emotionally in a safe, nurturing environment.
This role as an SEN Tutor goes beyond traditional teaching. You'll play a vital part in helping students in Derby overcome barriers to learning, increase their confidence and independence, and achieve positive educational outcomes through creative, adaptive teaching.
Key Responsibilities
Deliver engaging, personalised lessons that meet individual learning needs and EHCP outcomes
Adapt teaching strategies to support a range of SEN, including ASD, SEMH, ADHD, dyslexia, and trauma-informed approaches
Monitor, assess, and report on student progress
Build positive, trusting relationships with students and families
Create a safe, inclusive, and supportive learning environment
Encourage curiosity, resilience, independence, and a lifelong love of learning
What We're Looking For
Experience supporting children or young people with Special Educational Needs is essential
Strong understanding of SEN and the ability to adapt teaching to suit individual learners
A patient, empathetic, and resilient approach
Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
QTS, tutoring experience, HLTA status, or relevant education experience is desirable
A genuine passion for making a lasting difference in young people's lives
