About us

Our school is a place where we are all committed to ensuring our children experience the best education possible whilst we build positive working relationships with parents, carers and our local community. Great Oldbury Primary Academy is a truly exciting place to learn. No one day is ever the same and there is always something new to discover. Our beautiful, new Gloucestershire Learning Alliance (GLA) Multi-Academy Trust school and nursery sits in the heart of the Great Oldbury community and opened in September 2021.

Our school building is beautifully designed with an emphasis on light and space, whilst boasting a great outdoor environment including an all weather sports pitch, forest school area and a large school playground and field. Our ethos is underpinned by our vision, Dream, Believe and Achieve. Our school is ambitious for all. Our whole school community is actively encouraged to dream big and have the courage to turn their dreams into reality.

Our children are encouraged to think for themselves, to be problem solvers, to be creative and imaginative and to embrace new challenges. Our school provides children with the knowledge they need to empower their own learning and their futures. We believe that all members of our school can aspire to achieve their very best and we grow, nurture and support individuals to enable them to achieve this.

We celebrate all achievements, big, small, academic, sporting, creative, personal, collaborative and those in our community. Great Oldbury Little Learners provides high quality nursery and pre-school provision for 2, 3 and 4 year olds in a thoughtfully designed and well-resourced purpose built area of the school building. This provides a rich play-based curriculum focused on exploration and discovery within a safe and nurturing environment.

Our dedicated nursery manager oversees this exciting learning experience and works closely with the school Reception staff to ensure our pre-school children are fully prepared and supported in their transition into Reception. The Trust is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young persons and must ensure that the highest priority is given following the guidance and regulations to safeguard children and young people.

The successful candidate will be required to undergo an Enhanced Disclosure from the Disclosure and Baring Service and qualification checks. The GLA is an equal opportunities employer.
