Higher Level Teaching Assistant  Littleover, Derby   Full Time | Temporary | September 2026
Enlightenment Education are recruiting for an experienced  Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA)  to work in a primary school in the  Littleover area of Derby .
This is a full-time temporary position from  7th September to 30th September 2026 , working Monday to Friday.

The Role  The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting pupils through a mixture of intervention work and classroom teaching.
Duties will include:
Delivering targeted interventions during the morning

Providing PPA cover during the afternoon

Teaching classes across Years 3 to 6

Planning and delivering lessons

Managing classroom behaviour effectively

Supporting pupils with their learning and development

Working alongside teaching staff and the wider school team

About You  We are looking for someone who:
Has experience working in a primary school

Has experience working across Key Stage 2

Is confident leading a class independently

Has strong behaviour management skills

Can deliver engaging and effective lessons

Is confident adapting their approach to meet different pupil needs

Is reliable, organised and professional

Can commit to the full duration of the placement

HLTA experience is preferred, although experienced Teaching Assistants with strong whole-class teaching experience may also be considered.
