Education Personnel are delighted to be working in partnership with a progressive and well-respected secondary school in Derby to recruit a dedicated Science Teacher (Biology, Chemistry, or Physics) for a position starting immediately or in January 2027. This is an exciting opportunity for a skilled Science educator to contribute to a thriving department and support students at KS3, KS4, and potentially specialist Science KS5.
Derby secondary schools offer modern science laboratories, dedicated lab technicians, and active STEM enrichment programmes.
- Deliver the KS3 & KS4 Science curriculum, with KS5 teaching available if experienced in Derby
- Plan, prepare, and assess Combined and Specialist Science lessons in line with CLEAPSS safety standards
- Monitor student progress and implement appropriate interventions
- Contribute to Science department improvement planning
- Attend staff meetings, CPD, and parents' evenings as required
- Holds Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
- Has at least 6 months of classroom teaching Science experience in a UK secondary setting
- Is passionate about Science education and student achievement
- Has excellent behaviour management, practical laboratory safety skills, and communication skills
- Demonstrates a collaborative approach and willingness to contribute to school life
