Education Personnel are delighted to be working in partnership with a progressive and well-respected secondary school in Derby to recruit a dedicated English Teacher for a position starting immediately or in January 2027. This is an exciting opportunity for a skilled English educator to contribute to a thriving department and support students at KS3, KS4, and potentially English Language / Literature KS5.
Derby schools provide a collaborative academic culture with a strong emphasis on whole-school literacy.
- Deliver the KS3 & KS4 English curriculum, with KS5 teaching available if experienced in Derby
- Plan, prepare, and assess English Language and Literature lessons in line with department policy
- Monitor student progress and implement appropriate interventions for GCSE preparation
- Contribute to English department improvement planning
- Attend staff meetings, CPD, and parents' evenings as required
- Holds Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
- Has at least 6 months of classroom teaching English experience in a UK secondary setting
- Is passionate about English education and student achievement
- Has excellent behaviour management and communication skills
- Demonstrates a collaborative approach and willingness to contribute to school life
- Day-to-day supply | Long-term assignments | Permanent positions
- Full-time (5 days per week) | Part-time (1 day or more per week)
