Key Stage 1 Teacher

Salary: £174 - £240 per day
Are you a qualified Key Stage 1 Teacher with experience supporting deaf or hearing-impaired pupils?
Do you have British Sign Language / BSL skills and the ability to create an inclusive classroom environment?
Can you deliver engaging Key Stage 1 lessons while supporting pupils with their individual communication needs?
Teacher Active is proud to be working with a wonderful specialist school for deaf pupils based in Derby. The school has a strong local reputation and provides a supportive, welcoming environment where staff work together to help pupils achieve their full potential.
The school is looking to appoint a Key Stage 1 Teacher on a full-time maternity cover basis from November 2026. The successful Key Stage 1 Teacher will be responsible for planning and delivering the Key Stage 1 curriculum, using BSL to support communication and ensuring pupils are fully engaged and supported throughout their learning.
The successful Key Stage 1 Teacher will have:
• QTS, with ECTs also welcomed to apply
• Experience teaching within Key Stage 1 / KS1
• British Sign Language / BSL skills
• Experience supporting deaf or hearing-impaired children
• Strong classroom management and communication skills
• A patient, adaptable and inclusive approach to teaching
