Role - Senior Mechanical Design Engineer
Contract - 12 months
Rate - £55 per hour inside IR35
Location - Derby 5x per week

Role Responsibilities

Producing high-quality mechanical designs to customer specifications
Creating detailed 3D CAD models and manufacturing drawings
Supporting product development and design improvement initiatives
Developing innovative engineering solutions to complex technical challenges
Modifying and refining designs in line with project and customer requirements
Ensuring designs comply with relevant safety and engineering standards
Collaborating closely with manufacturing and engineering teams
Supporting and mentoring junior engineers within the team
Presenting technical designs and solutions to customers and stakeholders
Skills

Proven experience as a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer within a highly regulated environment such as defence, nuclear, aerospace, or similar
Strong understanding of Design for Manufacture principles
Experience using 3D CAD software such as Siemens NX or equivalent
Familiarity with PLM systems such as Team centre or similar
Strong knowledge of engineering standards and safety legislation
Excellent problem-solving and communication skills
Engineering qualification in a relevant discipline
