Senior Mechanical Tooling Designer

Role - Senior Mechanical Tooling Designer
Contract - 12 months
Rate £45 Per Hour Inside IR35
Location - Derby 5x per week
Are you an experienced Tooling or Mechanical Designer looking to work on cutting-edge defence engineering projects? This is an excellent opportunity for talented engineers to join a high-performing team delivering tooling, fixtures, and mechanical design solutions for major new-build programmes within a highly regulated engineering environment.

Role Responsibilities

· Designing tooling, jigs, fixtures, and mechanical components

· Producing concept and detailed 3D CAD designs

· Solving complex engineering and manufacturing challenges

· Modifying and improving designs to meet project requirements

· Supporting safety, reliability, and performance reviews

· Producing technical documentation and reports

· Managing design risks and project scope

Key Skills

· Experience in Tooling Design or Mechanical Design

· Background in defence, nuclear, aerospace, or heavy engineering environments

· Knowledge of mechanical engineering principles and materials

· Experience with Siemens NX or similar 3D CAD systems

· Familiarity with Team centre or similar PLM systems

· Understanding of engineering standards and safety legislation
