Job Title: Mechanical Design Engineer
Type: Full-Time Permanent
Location: Derbyshire
Client Overview
Our client is a well-established UK engineering and manufacturing business specialising in the design and production of advanced packaging and automation machinery. With a strong reputation for innovation, quality, and engineering excellence, they deliver bespoke solutions to customers across highly regulated industries.
Responsibilities- Support mechanical engineering projects from concept design through to commissioning
- Design components, assemblies, and machinery using Solid Works or similar CAD software
- Produce detailed manufacturing drawings, BOMs, and technical documentation
- Develop innovative engineering solutions for packaging and automation equipment
- Ensure designs comply with relevant regulatory and health & safety standards
- Experience designing packaging machinery and/or automation equipment
- Degree-qualified in Mechanical Engineering, Design Engineering, or a related discipline
- Strong working knowledge of Solid Works or similar 3D CAD packages
- Excellent problem-solving, organisational, and communication skills
