About the Company Our client is an established Australian engineering business with a strong track record delivering engineered solutions across warehouse, material handling and industrial environments.
As part of its next phase of growth, the business is investing significantly in warehouse automation, building greater internal capability across technology, software integration and project delivery.
This newly created position will play an important role in shaping how that capability develops.
About the Role An exciting opportunity exists for an experienced Automation or Systems Integration professional to become a key technical lead within the business.

Technology exposure will include AMRs, AGVs, ASRS, conveyors, robotics and sortation, alongside WMS, WES, WCS, RCS and ERP environments.

Lead and support FAT, SAT, commissioning, troubleshooting and handover
Develop in-house testing and prototyping to validate solutions and reduce risk before deployment
Build internal automation knowledge, standards and processes
Develop strong relationships with customers, technology partners and key stakeholders
About You Relevant Engineering degree qualification5+ years' experience within warehouse automation, systems integration, robotics, industrial automation, controls or a related technical environment
Proven hands-on project delivery and systems integration experience
Strong understanding of systems architecture and how multiple technologies communicate
Exposure to WMS, WES, WCS and/or ERP environments
Experience with APIs, interfaces, data mapping or software integration
Strong controls and PLC knowledge, ideally Siemens, Rockwell or Beckhoff Exposure to AMRs, AGVs, ASRS, conveyors, robotics or sortation systems FAT, SAT, commissioning and troubleshooting experience
Strong technical problem-solving skills with the confidence to work autonomously
Commercially aware, customer-focused and comfortable working across multiple technical disciplines
What's on Offer Opportunity to help build and shape a growing warehouse automation capability
Broad technical exposure across systems integration, automation technology and project delivery
Opportunity to develop the automation roadmap and influence how the department grows
Build and develop a high-performing automation team as the capability expands
Genuine future leadership opportunities, with potential progression into a Head of Automation position
Technology and process-driven environment focused on improving, automating and standardising existing workflows
Existing automation projects and opportunities already in the pipeline
If you're an experienced automation or systems integration professional looking for greater ownership, technical variety and the opportunity to help build something from the ground up, I'd be keen to hear from you.
