) office, with travel to client sites across London and the South East as required.
Overview:
This is an unrivalled opportunity for an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to join one of the leading SME contractors in the South and East of England and take a key commercial role within our growing Facilities Management (FM) division.
You will be responsible for managing the commercial function across our FM portfolio, currently comprising six contracts with an annual turnover of approximately £10m, covering planned and reactive maintenance and projects across building fabric, mechanical, electrical and gas services.
You will take commercial ownership of these contracts, working closely with our clients and operational teams to maximise performance, manage risk and ensure robust commercial control.
You will also manage and develop the FM commercial team, currently comprising a Quantity Surveyor and Technical Quoter, with the team expected to expand as we secure further contracts.
Key Responsibilities:
- Review and commercially assess client contract documents and advise on risk and opportunity.
- Commercial interaction with clients.
- Ensure that all aspects of the projects are understood.
- Procurement and management of resources to meet programme and maximise profitability.
- Weekly review of programme and analysis of variances from planned.
- Effective Change control to maximise revenue and profit opportunities and decrease risk.
- Forecasting and Monthly Cost/Value Reporting.
- Commercial advice to/support and interaction with project team(s).
- Assist Estimating and Operations with developing bid submissions.

Skills/Expertise:
- Higher level (HNC or Degree) qualification in Quantity Surveying.
- At least 3 - 5 years commercial experience with involvement in FM projects.
- Have functional/technical skills associated with the field of Quantity Surveying.
- Communicates effectively and able to speak, listen and write in good English and in a clear, thorough and timely manner using appropriate and effective communication techniques and tools.
- A team player, operating cooperatively and effectively with others to set goals, resolve problem, and make decisions that enhance organisational effectiveness.
- Experienced in leading and developing a diverse team including managing performance and skills development
- IT proficient in MS Office, particularly in Excel and Word.
- Holds a full driving licence.
