Events Supervisor – Seasonal Halloween & Christmas

Whitehall Garden Centre is a family-run, award-winning business offering a wide range of shopping, dining and seasonal experiences for our customers.

We are looking for an enthusiastic, organised and confident Events Supervisor to join our team for our exciting Halloween and Christmas events.

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with previous supervisory, events, hospitality, retail or customer service experience who enjoys leading a team and creating memorable experiences for customers.

The Role

As Events Supervisor, you will play a key role in the successful delivery of our Halloween and Christmas events. You will be responsible for supervising the Events Assistants, ensuring activities run smoothly and maintaining excellent customer service and presentation standards throughout the day.

You will be a key point of contact for the Events Team and will work closely with the Garden Centre Management team.

Supervise, support and motivate the Events Assistant team Coordinate the team on a daily basis and allocate duties effectively

Ensure the smooth running of Halloween and Christmas events and activities

Brief the Events Team before shifts and ensure everyone understands their responsibilities

Ensure event areas are fully prepared, clean, safe and ready for customers

Monitor customer flow, queues and waiting areas during busy periods

Deal confidently and professionally with customer queries, feedback and complaints

Escalate any significant issues to the appropriate manager

Ensure event schedules and activities run to time Support ticket checking, bookings and customer entry processes where required

Assist with children's activities and family experiences

Supervise seasonal character and costume roles, including elf characters

Ensure costumes and event equipment are used appropriately and looked after

Liaise with Santa and other seasonal performers where required

Ensure the Events Team maintains a high standard of customer service and professionalism

Monitor Health & Safety within event areas and report any concerns immediately

Complete opening and closing checks as required

Assist with setting up and taking down event areas, decorations and equipment

Work closely with other Garden Centre departments to ensure events operate successfully

Provide feedback to management regarding staffing, customer feedback and event performance

Lead by example and be willing to get involved wherever needed

Undertake any other reasonable duties required to support the successful running of the events

We are looking for someone who is:

An experienced supervisor or team leader

Confident managing and motivating a small team Friendly, approachable and professional

Highly organised and able to prioritise effectively

Confident dealing with customers, including resolving complaints

Comfortable working in a busy, fast-paced environment

Confident working with children and families

Enthusiastic and able to create a fun and welcoming atmosphere

Calm under pressure and able to make decisions

Reliable, responsible and able to use their own initiativeA strong team player with excellent communication skills

Flexible and willing to work weekends and during busy seasonal periods

Comfortable wearing a seasonal costume and supervising team members who are wearing costumes

Previous experience within events, hospitality, retail, leisure, tourism or customer service would be advantageous.

This is a seasonal position, with shifts available throughout the Halloween and Christmas event periods.
