The Procurement Category Officer is a key role within the Property and Asset Management team responsible for supporting multi-million pound procurement projects from inception to completion. The post-holder must remain flexible to manage various other housing procurements as required.

As a Procurement Category Officer, you will provide critical support to the Procurement Category Manager in managing a comprehensive pipeline of procurement activities. Your primary focus will be ensuring that all contracts are executed on schedule and deliver optimal value for money, while strictly adhering to internal governance protocols and the Procurement Act 2023.

While prior experience within the property, housing, or construction sectors is advantageous, familiarity with the Building Regulations 2010 and the Building Safety Act 2022, as well as a working knowledge of JCT and NEC contract forms, is highly desirable for this position.

Working in liaison with the Procurement Category Manager, support is provided

through:

• The provision of advice on the Council’s procurement processes and best practice
• Project management of the procurement work-stream
• Sourcing providers for various requirements
• Drafting tender and contract documents
• Managing the contract award process

The post holder will be expected to specify, tender and recommend the award of contracts within certain classes of contract activity so as to gain familiarity with specialist service considerations. Where required, larger more complex procurements will be carried out by the Procurement Category Manager aided by the post holder.
