Salary

£26,715.00 FTE per annum (pro rata) + Sleep in Shifts paid at £69.76 per shift

The Grace Eyre Foundation is a charity based in Brighton & Hove and the wider Sussex community that has been working with people with a Learning Disability and autistic people since 1898. Our mission is to work towards being led by people with Learning Disabilities and autistic people to deliver high-quality housing, support and activities in their local communities. Introduction

to the role

We are looking to recruit a flexible support worker to provide cover support for annual leave, sickness and training and to generally cover gaps in our services where we need to recruit to some of our already established support services. No set rota working with varied clientele, working in different services supported living + community support, weekend work also required.

This part time role is suited to someone who’s availability may change on a weekly basis, second job, working around school hours, evenings and weekends etc.

We have weekday, weekend and evening/sleep in shifts available.

Support Workers inspire, encourage and support people to live independent, fun, full and healthy lives. There is also a focus on ensuring people we support play active roles in their local communities.

Brief outline of the role

Your role will be to support people with learning disabilities, autism and other complex needs with day-to-day tasks in either our supported living houses or out in the community supporting people to live independently in their own homes.

We support people with all aspects of their lives, such as daily living skills, medication, personal care and finances as well as accessing community activities. You will need to have good communication skills and just enjoy spending time with people. You will need to have some technical competency in computer/mobile use our system.

It is a rewarding and varied role and one that really makes a difference to the lives of the people we support. It helps them to live a fulfilled life and achieve their goals and dreams with a little help from people who care.

Some learning disability and/or caring experience in supporting people either professionally or personally is preferred for this role.
