Hours: Full-time, Monday to Friday
Salary: £15,860 per annum

We are looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Payroll Apprentice to join our Payroll Team in Horwich. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to build a long-term career in payroll, gaining hands-on experience while supporting the processing of multiple payrolls across the business.
Working alongside experienced payroll professionals, you will learn the end-to-end payroll process and develop valuable skills in payroll administration, compliance, reporting, and employee support.
Key ResponsibilitiesAs a Payroll Apprentice, you will:
- Support the Payroll Team with the full end-to-end payroll process.
- Assist with calculating and processing employee wages, absences, overtime, and deductions.
- Help administer employee benefits processed through payroll.
- Upload and reconcile pension data.
- Prepare and distribute payroll reports to internal stakeholders.
- Respond to employee payroll queries, escalating complex matters when required.
- Support the processing of statutory payments, including SSP, SMP, PAYE, and National Insurance.
- Assist with year-end payroll activities.
- Maintain accurate employee records within Payroll and HR systems.
- Ensure compliance with payroll legislation, company policies, GDPR, and data protection requirements.
- Support internal and external payroll audits.
- Provide administrative assistance to the wider HR Team when required.
- Undertake additional duties appropriate to the role.
- Strong analytical and numerical skills.

- Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information professionally.
