Your New Role

As an HR Officer, you will play a key role in delivering a proactive and professional HR service across the business.

Working closely with the HR Manager as part of a small HR team, you will support all aspects of the employee lifecycle, from attracting and onboarding talent through to employee development, engagement and employee relations support.

This is a broad generalist role that offers genuine variety and the opportunity to build strong relationships with employees and managers across the organisation. You will be involved in recruitment, learning and development, policy development, HR projects, employee wellbeing initiatives and day-to-day HR operations.

The role requires someone who is organised, proactive and confident communicating with people at all levels. Whether supporting a manager with a people issue, coordinating recruitment activities or assisting with employee meetings, you will play an important role in helping create a positive employee experience.

You will also support the promotion of JMG as an employer of choice, representing the business at careers fairs, school and college engagement events, and helping to attract future talent into the organisation.

Key Responsibilities HR Advisory & Employee Support
  • Act as a first point of contact for HR-related enquiries.
  • Provide practical HR guidance and support.
  • Build positive working relationships and support employee engagement,wellbeingand retention.
  • Promote the Company Core Values and culture.
Recruitment, Onboarding & Employer Branding
  • Coordinate the end-to-end recruitment process.
  • Manage applications, interviews, candidatecommunicationsand pre-employment checks.
  • Prepare offers,contractsandonboardingdocumentation.
  • Maintain recruitment records and Equal Opportunities Monitoring information.
  • Support employer branding initiatives andcareerscontent.
  • Represent the Company at careers fairs, schools,college sand universities.
  • Develop relationships with educational establishments and external partners.
  • Support work experience,placement and graduate programs.
Employee Relations & Attendance Management
  • Support investigations, disciplinary, grievance,capabilityandabsencemanagement processes.
  • Assist the HR Manager with investigations and meetings as note taker, HR representativeor chair where appropriate.
  • Conduct employee meetings including return-to-work interviews.
  • Prepare documentation and support managers on performance,attendance and flexible working matters.
Learning & Development
  • Coordinate learning and development activities whilemaintainingtraining records.
  • Support managers inidentifyingdevelopment needs.
  • Assist with appraisal, performancereview and employee development processes.
Compliance & Continuous Improvement
  • Develop andmaintainHR policies,procedure sand processes.
  • Support statutory reporting and HR compliance activities.
  • Contribute to HR projects and employee wellbeing,diversity and inclusion initiatives.
HR Operations & Administration
  • Maintain employee records, HRsystemsand personnel files.
  • Prepare HR documentation including contracts,letters and correspondence.
  • Process employee lifecycle changes and support payroll administration.
  • Produce HR reports and ensure GDPR compliance.

Any other duties required in line with your job role

Essential skills and qualifications
  • Minimum of 3years’ experience in a generalist HR role.
  • Experience supporting recruitment,onboarding and employee relations activities.
