Azure Cloud Infra Engineer (SC Cleared)
Location:
Derby, UK – Hybrid, 3 days onsite per week
Contract:
Fixed Term – 5 months
We are recruiting for an experienced Azure Cloud Infrastructure Engineer to support complex cloud development and migration projects within a large enterprise environment.
The successful candidate will design, implement and optimise secure, scalable and highly available Azure environments, with a strong focus on Databricks, Azure infrastructure, Dev Ops and Infrastructure as Code.
Key Responsibilities
Design and implement scalable Azure cloud solutions across IaaS, PaaS and SaaS.
Build Azure environments supporting applications, data platforms and Dev Ops teams.
Design, configure and optimise Azure Databricks, Data Factory, Synapse, Data Lake and database services.
Implement automated infrastructure using Terraform, Bicep, ARM and Power Shell.
Design and implement Azure Dev Ops CI/CD pipelines using YAML.
Configure and troubleshoot App Gateway, Azure AD, firewalls and networking.
Implement Azure security controls in line with architecture, governance and compliance requirements.
Support cloud migration and resolve infrastructure, connectivity and performance issues.
Work closely with architects, developers and data engineering teams.
Essential Skills & Experience
Current/valid UK SC Clearance
10+ years' overall IT experience, including 5+ years with Azure Cloud.
Strong hands-on Azure Databricks (DBX) experience – essential.
Azure IaaS, PaaS and cloud infrastructure.
Azure Data Factory, Synapse and Data Lake.
Terraform / Bicep / ARM / Power Shell.
Azure Dev Ops, CI/CD and YAML pipelines.
Strong Azure networking, firewall, App Gateway and connectivity experience.
Azure security, IAM/AD and cloud resource controls.
Experience migrating applications/data from on-premise environments to Azure.
Experience with Kubernetes, Docker/containers, RHEL/Ubuntu Linux, Traffic Manager and reverse proxy technologies would be advantageous.
Candidates must be able to work onsite in Derby 3 days per week.
