Premises Manager Salary: £30,760.67 per annum (dependent on experience)

37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday

We are recruiting on behalf of a thriving and well-regarded primary school for a hands-on and proactive Premises Manager . This is a fantastic opportunity to play a key role in maintaining a safe, secure and welcoming environment where pupils, staff and visitors can thrive.

The successful candidate will take ownership of the day-to-day management, maintenance and security of the school site, ensuring high standards are maintained across the buildings and grounds.

The Role As Premises Manager, you will be responsible for the operational management of the school site, working closely with senior leadership and support staff to ensure the premises remain fully compliant, safe and fit for purpose.

Key responsibilities include:

Managing the day-to-day maintenance and security of the school buildings and grounds Acting as a key holder and responding to emergency call-outs when required. Carrying out repairs, general maintenance and overseeing planned and reactive maintenance works. Monitoring and maintaining building systems including heating, lighting, CCTV, alarms and water systems Managing contractors, compliance services and site-related projects. Leading and supervising cleaning and site staff to ensure high standards are achieved Taking responsibility for health and safety compliance, risk assessments, fire safety and COSHH requirements.

Managing maintenance budgets and preparing reports for senior stakeholders and governors. Supporting school lettings and occasional out-of-hours activities. About You We are seeking a practical and organised professional who can work independently while building positive relationships across the school community.

You will have:

Experience in facilities, premises or site management, ideally within a school or similar environment Strong maintenance skills and knowledge of basic repairs, including plumbing, carpentry and electrical work A solid understanding of health and safety legislation, risk assessments, fire safety and COSHH. Experience managing contractors and overseeing maintenance programmes The ability to supervise and motivate cleaning and site teams. Excellent organisational and communication skills.
