We’re now looking for a confident, hands-on Deputy Transport Manager ready to take ownership, lead from the front, and play a pivotal role in keeping our operation running at peak performance.

This is more than a supervisory role. It’s a leadership position where you’ll influence operational strategy, shape team culture, and drive measurable results across our transport function. You’ll work closely with senior leadership to ensure fleet efficiency, regulatory compliance, and service excellence, all while building a high-performing, motivated team.

What You’ll Be Accountable For

Leadership & Team Development

* Lead, coach, and develop a team of drivers and operational staff

* Set clear performance expectations and conduct regular reviews

* Champion a positive, solutions-focused team culture

* Manage return-to-work processes and support disciplinary procedures

Transport Operations & Performance

* Plan and optimise daily transport schedules and route allocations

* Monitor KPIs and adjust operations to maximise efficiency

* Maintain exceptional service standards while driving productivity

* Ensure fleet utilisation is commercially and operationally sound

Compliance & Safety

* Maintain full compliance with Operator Licence requirements

* Uphold road haulage regulations and internal safety policies

* Conduct audits and promote a proactive safety culture

Stakeholder Management

* Build strong working relationships with customers and suppliers

* Resolve operational challenges swiftly and professionally

Resource & Cost Control

* Manage vehicles, fuel usage, and operational resources effectively

* Support supplier negotiations to maintain cost efficiency

Continuous Improvement & Reporting

* Produce transport performance reports and KPI analysis

* Identify process improvements and leverage industry best practice

* Stay ahead of regulatory changes and technology developments
