Manual Machinist​/tooling technician

Position: Manual Machinist/tooling technician (Permanent)
We’re hiring a manual machinist/tooling technician for a reputable production company based 20 mins from Derby. This is a hands-on Manual Machinist role and we seek suitable applications for technically minded people or will the enthusiasm to learn the technician side of the business to ensure the smooth running of the machines and preventative maintenance.

You’ll be part of a supportive team where you’ll gain experience in press tool maintenance, manual machining, and precision engineering.
The Job

* Operate and maintain manual machines, including:

* Jones & Shipman Grinder

* Bridgeport Turret Mill

* Manual Lathes

* Assist with the setup and repair of press tools

* Carry out precision machining and tool maintenance tasks

* Maintain high safety and quality standards across all work
The successful candidate
Essential:

* Experience operating manual mills, grinders, or lathes

* Previous work in a mechanical or engineering workshop

* Practical, hands-on approach and good attention to detail
Preferred:

* Knowledge of press tools or toolmaking

* Experience with Jones & Shipman or Bridgeport machines

* Full UK driving license due to the location or live locally

Experience Required

* Milling/manual machining: 1 year (required)

* Grinding machine: 1 year (preferred)

* Press tools: 1 year (preferred)
Job Types: Full-time, 12 week TTP arrangement
