What you will be doing
As our Youth Engagement Officer, you will support the development and delivery of Historic England’s work with the youth sector, helping more young people, particularly those who face barriers to participation, to benefit from engagement with local heritage.
Working under the guidance of the Youth Engagement Manager, you will provide practical support for partnerships, projects, training, resources, communications and evaluation.
You will help gather and share the perspectives of young people and support colleagues and partners to develop inclusive approaches to youth engagement.
This is an early career role offering supported experience across heritage, youth engagement and programme delivery.
You will be encouraged to build your knowledge, confidence and professional networks through varied work, training and development opportunities.
Who we are looking for
Some experience of supporting projects, events, learning, participation or engagement work; organising tasks, information or activities; meeting agreed deadlines; and using standard digital tools to support communication, meetings, documents and record keeping.
Experience of working collaboratively, building positive relationships, and communicating clearly and respectfully with different people.
A clear interest in youth engagement, heritage, communities or learning, together with a willingness to develop knowledge and skills in these areas.
A clear commitment to inclusion and safeguarding, and to creating opportunities for young people who face barriers to participation.
Please note your application will be scored and assessed against the above criteria.
