Overview
NHS England is recruiting a Clinical Endoscopist Lead for the South East Endoscopy Training Academy on a fixed‑term basis, until 31 March 2027 in the first instance. This role is for 1 or 2 days a week, with a potential for job share.
The Clinical Endoscopist refers to nurses and/or allied health professionals who have trained to carry out endoscopy procedures.
Responsibilities- Provide expert professional advice to develop and lead the education and training strategy for the South East Endoscopy Training Academy.
- Act as a local expert resource supporting the development of a regional training programme for Clinical Endoscopists.
- Serve as the main point of contact for local partners.
- Co‑ordinate training programmes within the South East, including organising and managing large multi‑professional working group meetings.
- Develop regional networks to provide peer support for Clinical Endoscopists and endoscopy colleagues.
- Work closely with multiple stakeholders to identify key steps to embed training programmes beyond the pilot phase.
- Lead regionally on the monitoring and audit of training posts for quality and consistency.
Applicants should have demonstrable experience in endoscopy training, strong stakeholder engagement skills, and a proven track record of developing and delivering educational programmes within a healthcare setting.
