  • Hold a Mental Health Nursing qualification.
  • Have post‑qualification experience in mental health.

Main duties of the job
  • Provide specialist mental health nursing interventions to adults with severe and enduring mental health needs within a community setting.
  • Manage a defined caseload of service users, delivering recovery‑focused, person‑centred care.
  • Undertake comprehensive assessments, risk assessments, and develop and review care plans under the Care Programme Approach (CPA).
  • Contribute to and support the team’s duty system, responding to urgent or unplanned needs.
  • Work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team, maintaining strong communication with colleagues, service users, carers, and partner agencies.
  • Act as a mentor and role model to junior staff and students, offering supervision and guidance.
  • Maintain accurate and timely clinical records in line with trust policies and professional standards.
  • Support service users in their recovery journey, promoting independence, social inclusion, and overall well‑being.
  • Apply up‑to‑date knowledge of relevant NMC standards and ensure high standards of professional practice.
  • Travel independently across a large geographical area to meet the needs of the service.
