Registered Veterinary Nurse - hospital day role

Are you a compassionate and skilled Registered Veterinary Nurse seeking a fulfilling career in a bustling hospital environment? My client is excited is seeking a dedicated RVN to join our dynamic team at our 24-hour hospital in East Sussex. The team are committed to providing the highest standard of care to their patients. This beautiful RCVS accredited practice boasts state-of-the-art facilities and a team of passionate professionals dedicated to excellence in veterinary medicine.

The purpose-built hospital is equipped with high-tech equipment and a fully equipped in-house laboratory. They offer dedicated cat, dog, exotic, isolation, and day procedure wards, supported by a fantastic nurse and support team.

The team includes multiple certificate holders and staff members with a wide range of clinical interests and expertise, including referral services for orthopaedics, ophthalmology, advanced imaging, and exotics. There is a fully staffed out-of-hours team alongside the day team, ensuring comprehensive care around the clock. They are deeply committed to the continuous development of the team members, offering ample learning and development opportunities through dedicated in-house and external CPD.

Responsibilities
  • Handle a varied caseload, including emergency and advanced medical cases referred from neighbouring branches and local practices.
  • Work full-time, four days a week, with a 1:8 weekend rota and a Monday off in lieu.
  • Ensure smooth handovers with the in-house out-of-hours team.
Qualifications & Skills
  • Registered Veterinary Nurse (RVN) status.
  • Ability to remain calm under pressure.
  • Strong organisational and multitasking skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Customer service-oriented approach.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Commitment to ongoing professional development.
