Workchain is currently seeking a skilled Workshop Foreman to join our client in Derby on a permanent basis.
Our client are seeking a skilled and experienced Workshop Foreman to join their team who specialize in the hire of heavy site pumps across the UK.
Located at the main Derby depot reporting to the depot Regional Operations Manager, this key role is to take responsibility for the day to day running of the workshop, yard, equipment, vehicles and scheduled workload of fitters.
Predominantly depot based but requirements to visit site and support specific jobs and fitters will be required.
This role is being recruited for on a permanent basis.
Immediate interviews and starts are available.
Key Responsibilities:
· Candidates must have previous knowledge and experience in an engineering / mechanical environment.
· Large diesel engine knowledge is essential however heavy goods engines may suffice.
· Read and interpret engineering and fabrication drawings to measure, cut, drill, and shape steel to exact dimensions.
· Fabricate and assemble structural steel and balustrade components.
· Operate tools and machinery including saws, grinders, drills and CNC equipment.
· Perform quality checks to ensure work meets specifications and standards and plan and coordinate all work in an efficient manner.
· Undertake servicing and repairs for our internal pump fleet and equipment, providing timely service reports and Corrective Action Requests (CAR) where appropriate.
· Liaising with customers and providing them with technical support as required.
Key
Experience:
· Candidates must be HNC or City & Guilds qualified in an engineering discipline, ideally with mechanical bias.
· Any industry qualifications would be an advantage, SPA Quarry passport and CSCS card.
· Working knowledge of rotating machinery, specifically pumps and diesel engines.
· Any additional electrical qualifications would be an advantage.
· Proven experience in steel fabrication, especially in structural and balustrade work.
· Proficient in welding and metalworking techniques.
Hours of work are Monday to Friday, 8.00am to 4.30pm.
The starting salary is £40kpa to £43kpa with excellent company benefits, including 4 X 4 company vehicle, fuel card, mobile phone and laptop.
