Youth Employment Advisor Regional Office Worker - Site & Community based (Covering Derbyshire & Nottinghamshire) Salary:
Starting from £31,000 per annum  Package About the role Are you a youth professional who knows how to build trust, create safe spaces and help young people take their next steps? As a Youth Employment Advisor, you'll use your experience of working with young people to help them build confidence, overcome barriers and move towards meaningful work. This is a role for someone who understands youth engagement first and employability second: someone who can meet young people where they are, keep them motivated when progress is difficult and translate their strengths, interests and lived experience into realistic opportunities.

Build trusted relationships with young people through outreach, regular contact and youth-focused assessments that understand their goals, strengths, interests and barriers. Turn youth work into progression by creating personalised action plans that build confidence, resilience, employability skills and readiness for work at the young person's pace. Connect young people to the right opportunities , working with employers to create positive starts, manage expectations and support young people to sustain work once they get there.

Recognise and respond to barriers by linking young people with the right support around wellbeing, safeguarding, housing, finance, transport, family responsibilities or other challenges affecting progression. Work as part of a wider youth support network with employers, schools, community organisations, youth services and specialist partners. Keep accurate records and capture progress , showing the distance travelled by young people as well as their employment outcomes.

Job requirements About you Experience working directly with young people , ideally in youth work, mentoring, education, community support, employability, participation or a similar setting. A strong youth engagement style , with the ability to build trust, motivate young people, manage challenging conversations and adapt your approach to different needs and experiences. A practical and resilient mindset , with confidence supporting young people who may be unsure, disengaged or facing multiple barriers to work.

Understanding of pathways into work , including local employers, training routes, community support and the practical steps young people need to take to move closer to employment. Good organisation and digital confidence , with the ability to manage caseloads, record progress accurately and follow up consistently. A values-led and safeguarding-aware approach , with commitment to inclusion, professional boundaries, GDPR and continuous learning.

Willingness to travel to meet young people, employers and partners.
