Qualified Train Drivers

Overview

Cross Country Trains is a leading UK rail operator with an extensive network covering 1,400 miles and more than 100 stations. We are looking for fully‑qualified train drivers to deliver safe, on‑time service across this network.

• Operate Cross Country trains, ensuring safety and adherence to timetable.
• Serve as a technical and operational specialist within the team to maintain high standards of on‑train service.
• Adapt to a variety of shift patterns, which may include unsocial hours, and may need to lodge at certain locations.

• European Train Driving License.
• At least 3 years of productive train‑driving experience.
• Excellent safety record.
• Full medical examination, substance‑abuse screening, and DBS check.
• Resident within one hour’s commute of Derby, available for shift work.
• Have occupied the current post for 3 years following completion of training and route learning before applying.

• Competitive starting salary: £65,402pa for experienced drivers without core routes and traction; £71,367pa with core routes and traction; £77,334pa after 1 year of service.
