HGV Class 1 Driver

HGV Class 1 Driver –   Castle Donington
People Solutions are currently recruiting for an  HGV Class 1 Driver  to join our well-established client based at  East Midlands Gateway, Derbyshire .
This is a fantastic opportunity offering excellent rates of pay, consistent ongoing work, and long-term opportunities with the potential to secure a permanent position.
This role would suit applicants who have previously worked as an  LGV Class 1 Driver ,  Category CE Driver  or  Articulated Lorry Driver .

Shifts:

• Thursday to Monday

• Start times between 05:00 and 07:00
Rates of Pay:

• Weekday: £17.00 per hour

• Saturday: £18.00 per hour

• Sunday: £19.00 per hour

Day-to-Day Duties:
As an  HGV Class 1 Driver , your duties will include:

• Safely operating Category C+E vehicles completing cross-country runs

• Operating curtain-sider trailers and securing loads correctly, including awkward loads

• Making timely deliveries to various destinations

• Communicating effectively with the transport team

• Adhering to company policies, procedures, and safety regulations

• Ensuring full compliance with driving laws and working time directives
Essential

Skills:

To be successful as an  HGV Class 1 Driver , you will need:

• A valid UK Category C+E Licence

• A valid UK CPC Card and Digital Tachograph Card

• A minimum of six months continuous Class 1 driving experience

• No more than six penalty points for minor infringements

• No major endorsement codes

• Excellent communication and time management skills

• A professional and reliable attitude
Desirable

Experience:

• Experience securing and strapping abnormal loads

• Experience manoeuvring within tight delivery depots
Training:

• Driving assessment required prior to start

• Three-day paid company induction programme

• Full industry-related training and ongoing support
