Teaching Assistant

About the role

Justteachers are pleased to be working with a friendly and supportive Primary school in Dereham, who are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to join their team on a long term full time supply basis, starting September.

This school prides itself on creating a nurturing and inclusive environment where pupils are encouraged to achieve their full potential. Staff work collaboratively to provide engaging learning experiences and ensure all children feel supported both academically and personally.

• Support the class teacher in delivering engaging lessons across the Primary curriculum
• Work with individual pupils and small groups to support learning and development
• Help create a positive, safe, and inclusive classroom environment
• Support pupils with varying learning needs and abilities
• Encourage positive behaviour and engagement within the classroom
• Assist with classroom preparation, resources, and daily routines
• Promote pupils’ confidence, independence, and social development
• Work collaboratively with teachers, support staff, and parents where appropriate

• Previous experience working within a Primary school setting
• A relevant Teaching Assistant qualification is desirable but not essential
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• The ability to build positive relationships with pupils and staff
• A patient, flexible, and proactive approach to supporting learning
• Good behaviour management skills
• Confidence supporting pupils across a range of abilities and needs
• Two recent education-based references
