As the “face of Airgas,” the Delivery Driver is responsible for safely and efficiently delivering compressed gas cylinders to local and regional business customers from an Airgas branch or plant location using a company‑provided straight or box truck. The Delivery Driver loads, unloads, delivers, and returns compressed gas cylinders while frequently interacting with Airgas customers.

As a Delivery Driver at Airgas, you will be part of a professional team that encourages internal mobility while offering employees a work/life balance.

• Cylinder Handling: Safely load, deliver, and unload cylinders containing compressed gases to both external and internal customer locations.
• Record Keeping: Accurately record deliveries and pick‑ups on a load manifest, obtaining customer signatures for receipt. Collect empty, rejected, or unsold cylinders and return them to a plant or branch for refilling.
• Safety and Compliance: Adhere to all Airgas safety standards (SAFECOR) and government regulations, including those from DOT, EPA, FMCSA, FDA, and OSHA.
• Warehouse Support: Provide assistance in the warehouse or on the dock as needed.

• Valid LA Class A or B Commercial Driver's License.
• Valid Medical Examiner’s Card.
• Hazmat & Airbrake certifications.
• Must have one (1) year of prior Class A or B professional driving experience within the last five (5) years and a clean driving record (no more than two (2) convictions, or two (2) at‑fault accidents in the last three years, or a combination of one (1) conviction and one (1) at‑fault accident in the last three years).
• In lieu of experience, may consider accepting a diploma from an accredited driving school and a minimum of one (1) year of prior driving experience within the last five (5) years.
• Must be at least 21 years or older.
• Ability to read and comprehend material safety data sheets.
• Ability to routinely lift 25‑75 lbs. and occasionally lift 76‑125 lbs. with the aid of material handling equipment.
• Must be able to drive hazardous cargo for up to 8 hours; frequent bending is also required.
• Ability to work independently and under some pressure to meet deadlines.
• Must be able to obtain a forklift operator certification.
