Transport Senior Clerical Officer Role - Springtown, Derry/Londonderry

Pay: £14.99 per hour

Hours: Monday to Friday, office hours, usually 9:00am - 5:00pm (36 hours per week), however some flexibility may be required

Contract: Temporary contract, extended monthly subject to business needs and operational requirements

Working Pattern: Fully office based

The Role

We re currently recruiting for a temporary Transport Senior Clerical Officer to join the Education Authority (EA) team based in Springtown, Derry/Londonderry.

This is a fantastic opportunity for an organised and experienced administrator to join the Transport team within a busy public sector environment. The successful candidate will provide essential administrative support, helping to ensure the smooth and effective delivery of transport services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide high-quality administrative, clerical and secretarial support to Officers within the Transport team.
  • Maintain accurate records, databases and information systems.
  • Manage correspondence, prepare reports, letters, emails and meeting documentation.
  • Organise diaries, appointments and meetings, including providing secretarial support to Senior Officers.
  • Support transport-related administrative processes, including purchasing, supplies and resource management.
  • Handle incoming calls, emails and enquiries, providing professional customer service and directing queries where required.
  • Maintain confidential records and ensure information is securely managed.
  • Liaise with internal teams, schools, transport providers and external stakeholders to gather and provide information.
  • Assist with general office administration, including filing, document preparation and updating records.
What We re Looking For
  • Previous experience in an administrative, clerical or office support role.
  • Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Confident communication skills with the ability to work with a range of stakeholders.
  • Ability to handle sensitive information professionally.
  • A flexible, reliable and proactive approach to work.
Essential Skills
  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel and Outlook.
  • Strong administration and record management skills.
  • Experience preparing correspondence, reports and meeting documentation.
Requirements
  • Three years of employment references.
